The topic was “Why are libraries still being built or refurbished in Cambridge and elsewhere?” In this Showroom we heard from Tim Allen-Booth of Niall McLaughlin Architects, who designed the Stirling Prize-winning new library at Magdalene College, Cambridge. We also heard the back story from CAR, who worked with Magdalene College to write the brief for the new library, and how the new library is working, ten years (or three generations of undergraduates) after the college’s decision to build.
